Prérequis

"Contemporary Economic Issues" forms part of the International Masters in Engineering. Students from different countries and contexts are welcomed in Conservatoire national des Arts et Métiers (Paris) after a Master selection. No specific other conditions are expected to attend to this course.

Objectifs pédagogiques

  • Understand that technical progress and innovation. 
  • Understand that sustainable economic growth comes up against ecological limits (in particular the depletion of resources, pollution and global warming) and that innovation can help to push back these limits. 
  • Understand the extent of income inequality in our economies. 
  • Understand international trade and the concepts of absolute and comparative advantage

Description des modalités de validation

  1. Students are invited to give a short presentation on a theme, concept or economist chosen by the teacher. 
  2. A written examination will take place at the end of the semester. 
  3. Course attendance will be assessed.
